The Fender 1951 Journeyman Relic features a lightweight ash body, delivering a classic Nocaster twang with sweet, airy tones. In addition, the Journeyman Relic's ash body is incredibly lightweight, allowing the player to throw themselves around the stage with ease and comfort, perfect for live sets and enduring practice sessions. The Journeyman Relic's ash body also delivers excellent resonance and sustain, offering firm lows, searing highs, and a scooped mid-range. As well as this, the Fender Custom Shop 1951 features a classic cutaway profile, which not only offers added aesthetic appeal but promotes the access to upper fingerboard shredding. Furthermore, the Fender Custom Shop 1951 is finished with a black pickguard, a faded Nocaster Blonde NOS flash coat lacquer, chrome/nickel hardware, and vintage style tuning machines for a truly vintage-vibe that takes the player soaring back to the 50s.
The guitar's solid AA flame maple neck and fingerboard provides the Journeyman Relic with bright characteristics, tightening up the guitar's overall sound and giving it plenty of cut. Additionally, maple delivers a powerfully sharp punch when the strings are hit hard, whilst still retaining its clarity to allow each note to sing. The neck and fingerboard also work together to provide the guitar with sizzling highs and firm lows, while its mid-range features a snappy attack. In addition, its AA flame maple neck also offers pleasing aesthetic appeal due to its beautifully patterned grain. Furthermore, the Journeyman Relic also features narrow jumbo frets for an authentic look and feel, while its V-shaped neck profile provides the player with incredibly easy and comfortable playability.
The Fender Custom Shop 1951 Journeyman Relic comes equipped with a pair of Custom Shop hand-wound Loaded '51 pickups within the neck and bridge position. This sonically-pleasing pair of pickups are designed to be as period correct as possible, accurately reproducing the shimmer and twang of the original Nocaster. Additionally, the Loaded '51 Nocaster pickups are single-coil and project a tight low-end with a clear, and well-balanced mid-range. The pickup's enamel-coated magnet wire also adds to the guitar's authentic sound by projecting a distinct, warm, vintage tonality. Furthermore, the '51 Nocaster pickups also provide even string response while its alnico 3 magnets add focus and enhanced dynamics. With these period-correct pickups, the Fender 1951 Journeyman Relic provides the player with a 'timeless tele twang'.
The Telecaster incorporates a string-thru body construction to provide improved tonality and sustain by transferring vibrations and resonance from the strings to the body. Additionally, the vintage style bridge features threaded saddles that keep the strings stable, allowing the guitar to be played harder without it going out of tune.
Featuring a carefully fitted bone nut, the Journeyman Relic delivers increased resonance and a bright tonal output. When compared to traditional plastic and Tusq materials used to construct guitar nuts, bone improves the vibration transfer between the string and tuning machines without dampening the tone.
