Gretsch developed the Filter'Tron pickup over 60 years ago. The majority of electric guitar pickups at the time were incapable of dealing with the louder volumes that the then-new craze of rock 'n' roll demanded. Instead, when dialing up the volume, guitars without the Filter'Tron would suffer from massive feedback and noise interference.

Then the Filter'Tron came along. This humbucking pickup meant that you could play at ear-splitting levels, while maintaining stunning clarity and definition. What's more, the Filter'Tron's unique sound is also iconic.
