Classic Hollowbody Tonality

A maple hollowbody design gives the AF71F a bright and resonant tone with complex overtones created by the large internal space. The body has a classic "jazz box" proportion that is ideal for traditional mellow-jazz tones with great clarity and nuance. The mahogany neck and rosewood fingerboard enhances the AF71F's low-end articulation and stability, along with providing a smooth playing-feel for the left hand.

Hollow body guitars originally found popularity in traditional jazz styles, based on the original electric-acoustic guitar design. As pickups were developed over the decades, these guitars developed into genre-spanning instruments and will work equally well in blues, rock, country, pop, funk and soul musical styles. This is a great guitar to give you access to a wide range of genres with a convincing sound and classy aesthetic.

Elegant Aesthetics

The AF71F has a traditional aesthetic based on the "jazz box" guitar; this is created by its f-hole adorned body, white binding, block fingerboard inlays, and the "floating" tortoiseshell-coloured pickguard. The ART-1 bridge is sat on a wood mount for a traditional aesthetic, whilst the bridge itself provides the tuning stability and setup adjustments required by modern players.

A simple yet elegant VT06 tailpiece completes the classic hardware aesthetic, while the Tobacco Brown finish gives the AF71F a decades-old design that is steeped in heritage.

Classic Elite Humbucker

The Ibanez AF71F is loaded with a single Classic Elite humbucker in the neck position. This pickup gives you a warm tone with great clarity and a fat low-end; perfect for jazz players. The AF71F has a simple yet versatile volume and tone control layout, giving you just enough tone-sculpting potential to span different musical genres.

Smooth Playability

A graduated-thickness mahogany neck (21mm at 1st fret to 24mm at 9th fret) gives a classic feel reminiscent of vintage guitars. The 20 medium frets are mounted on a 305mm radius rosewood fingerboard, which will provide a smooth playing surface for any genre of music. The single cutaway body assists with top-fret access, while the svelte body design (with lighter weight courtesy of the hollow chamber) ensures a comfortable feel whether stood up or sat down.
