Key Features
That Marshall versatility you love. But it’s aimed at the modern player. The Marshall DSL40CRD Special 1x12 Valve Combo is an intuitive addition to the DSL line which has been popular amongst professional musicians since the ‘90s.
There’s a reason it’s so renowned. And this limited edition model keeps everything you love from the original series but teams them with modern updates. These include a single 12" Celestion V-type speaker, 40 watts, and power switching options. Meaning you get clear sound, powerful punch, and adaptability. For anyone new to the DSL, this all-tube behemoth dressed in cream Tolex has multiple speaker outs, MIDI implementation, two 'master' volumes, and a half-power mode as well. All these features mean you can hit the stage or practice room with your ideal sound.

This amp really can do it all. From rich, crisp cleans to heavy metal tones and everything in between. It’s all down to the two distinct drive tones with classic gain and ultra gain that lets you achieve a warm and clear tone or go full Marshall with saturated distortion. And you can use this amp anywhere. You can half its power, meaning if you find yourself playing a smaller show or you’re just rehearsing, you don’t need to dominate with volume to get the best sound from this amp. Loud is great, but not always practical and Marshall respect that.
Shape your sound to suit your playing style. The bass, middle, and treble all effect the preamp tone giving you everything from fat rhythm tones to crisp and biting lead just by cranking the trebles. These are also very interactive with the midshift control. This reconfigures the mid frequencies in the pre-amp, helping to deliver those modern metal tones. It’s a highly interactive control ready for you to experiment to find exactly the sound you want.
But that’s not all. Separate from the pre-amp are two power amp controls, resonance and presence. Turn the resonance clockwise and you’ll bring out a bass bloom, adding weight and strength to the lower frequencies, while the presence acts like a treble control altering the very high frequencies and adding extra bite to dark sounding guitars.
Recording made easy You can also record with superiority. Designed by the great minds at Softtube, the emulated speaker out lets you achieve quality cab simulation for direct-out recording. This negates the headache of finding a decent space for setting up your amp and loads of leads and expensive microphones. As well as being great for recording, it’s also ideal to practice through headphones. Simply set your amp to standby and it will be completely silent.
