Designed to give you an exact copy of PAF performance, they're brimming with articulation and a rounded, classic-style tonal character. The body features an AA figured maple top with a satin nitro finish, instantly providing the sense of a guitar that's been loved cared for over the years. And if you need convincing, then look no further than the premium sets of appointments that decorate this Faded '50s. Starting with its accurate Vintage Deluxe Keystone tuning buttons and gold Top Hat knobs with dial pointers, it's got the period correct charm to win you over. Add to that its gorgeous vintage honey burst finish and satin nitrocellulose lacquer, and it's hard to keep your eyes away!
But isn't just about its looks, because Gibson have made sure it feels correct. An unchambered, purely solid mahogany body provides the heft and weight you'd expect from a vintage LP, while the '50s neck profile ensures you'll be chording and riffing like the players of old. Authenticity at its finest.
Timeless tones
The holy grail of humbuckers. These are the PAF tones that guitarists crave, and the tones they try so hard to recreate. Well, guitarists need try no more, because Gibson have done the hard work for you! Featuring BurstBucker 1 and 2 pickups, the Standard Faded '50s brings the sought-after PAF punch in both positions. Using historically correct unmatched bobbin windings and alnico II magnets, in addition to unpotted construction and vintage wiring, you couldn't get a closer match to the unique spark of '50s pickups.
At the neck is BurstBucker 1 that's tuned for a much lower output. Excellent at rhythm work or providing a chunkier tone for solos, it's got a full-bodied voice for a range of genres. And over at the bridge is a gnarlier, throatier BurstBucker 2. It's still airy in tone as it's only medium output, but put some overdrive through it and revel in the glistening high end and captivating distorted harmonics. And as these are both open coil, you'll get the cool uncovered aesthetic in addition to a slightly grittier sound.
Les Paul level playability
One of the finest playing experiences you'll find on a guitar. Presenting an accurate '50s style mahogany neck, the Standard Faded '50s has the period feel, and a rounded, chunky playing action that's great for chord work and solos alike. On top of that is a gloriously smooth rosewood fretboard that allows for seamless transitions over the scales.
And these are backed up by the classic Gibson features that make the Les Paul an instrument like no other. Vintage style tuning machines pair with an ABR-1 Tune-O-Matic bridge with an aluminium stop bar to award you with rock solid stability while you're playing. And that TOM bridge makes intonation easy to adjust and set to your liking. With these working in tandem, you can forget about the faff, and focus on the fun.
