Flexible dual channel control
The Blue and Red channels provide a broad gain spectrum that covers expressive low gain through to saturated distortion. The Blue side shifts easily between edge-of-breakup tones and firm rock drive, reacting well to instrument dynamics.
The Red channel then extends into thicker, harmonically rich saturation suited to melodic lead lines and heavier rhythm parts. Each channel offers dedicated Gain, Volume and three-band EQ controls, allowing separate tone building without relying on external pedals. This structure helps keep setups streamlined while maintaining clear tonal contrast across parts.
Voicing switches that shape feel
Pre EQ and Schizo switches offer direct control over attack, response and overall gain behaviour. Pre EQ shapes the signal before it reaches the tube stages, altering bite and presence. Schizo then shifts gain character to adjust tightness and saturation.
Both switches provide subtle but valuable tweaks that help dial tones for recording contexts or situations where precise response is important. These additions also make the module adaptable to a wide range of playing styles without adding complexity.
Tube-driven depth for modern setups
Two 12AX7 valves supply the harmonic detail associated with the original Ecstasy head, giving lively overtones at moderate gain and a stable core when pushed harder. This makes the module well suited to direct recording through Synergy racks with impulse responses, as well as lower volume rigs partnered with compact power amps. Many guitarists look for authentic tube feel at controlled volume levels, so this design provides a practical route to that experience in home studios or rehearsal rooms.
Hardware adaptability that keeps rigs simple
The cathode select switch offers three voicing options based on classic input tube configurations, each shifting bass response and sensitivity. It arrives set to the designer’s recommended position but invites experimentation to match instruments or cabinets.
A Dual or Single mode switch then supports older Egnater and Randall modular systems, activating one channel when those units cannot switch between both. This level of compatibility helps keep existing rigs relevant and reduces the need for additional hardware.
