Despite the V6JMH's accessible price, the guitar is constructed with a quality alder body and maple neck with a rosewood fingerboard. This tonewood combination lends the V6JMH a classic bright tonality with excellent resonance and sustain - perfect for blues, rock, country, funk, soul, and more. The iconic double cutaway design gives easy access to the top frets, so you'll have no problem reaching the top notes during solos, while the smooth body contours give a comfortable playing feel whether stood up or sat down. The reverse headstock and reverse left-handed pickup configuration pay tribute to an iconic guitarist from the rock and roll hall of fame.
Compared with the V6JMH's vintage looks and tone, the neck features a modern 12'' fingerboard radius which provides excellent balance across the strings, along with the ability to set up a low string action with no risk of the strings "choking" when you play string bends. The slim neck sits easily in the left hand, while the low-profile neck joint and double cutaway assists with top-fret access for high range solos. This playability gives you the feel of a modern instrument with the looks and sounds of a classic guitar.
Like all Vintage guitars, the V6JMH features Trev Wilkinson-designed hardware, built on years of industry experience. The Wilkinson WVC vibrato bridge features a traditional 6-saddle design, made with bent-steel saddles and 6 screw pivots for full adjustability and a smooth action.
The bridge is complemented with Wilkinson WJ55 patented E-Z-Lok tuners, providing a simple locking action for quick and stable tuning. A graphite nut assists with tuning by providing a friction-free platform for the strings to pass over when bending strings and using the whammy bar.
The V6JMH is loaded with a matched set of Wilkinson single-coils. Theses pickups are reverse mounted in a left-handed configuration, providing a unique tone with the pole pieces in the reverse order for an authentic sound. The bridge pickup's reversed mounting moves the treble pole pieces away from the bridge for a sweeter tone, while the bass pole pieces are close to the bridge for more bite.
A 5-way switch provides access to a classic range of tones, including all the popular combined-coil sounds; ideal for rock, blues, funk, country, and much more. These pickups make the most of the tonal potential from the V6JMH's open-sounding and resonant alder body, with a dynamic tone that brings out all the nuances of your playing and can traverse the genres.
The Guitar Magazine gave the V6JMH 91% along with their Guitar Choice Award:
"It's abundantly clear that boys and girls at Vintage are having a lot of fun designing and producing these models… solid and reliable with probably the best mass-market hardware in the sub-£500 price bracket… a fun purchase that also has a definite musical purpose."
