SRT Powered acoustic realism

The SLG200N II uses Yamaha’s SRT Powered system to recreate the resonance of a mic’d classical guitar in a bodiless instrument. Yamaha modelled the sound from studio recordings of high-end nylon string guitars, captured with carefully chosen microphones, then tuned it to suit the SLG’s response. You get believable sustain, decay and air through headphones or the line out, instead of the hard, direct edge you can hear from piezo-only signals. Blend SRT with the pickup to dial in detail and cut for your amp, PA or interface.

Ultra-quiet practice

For times when a normal acoustic is too loud, the SLG200N II keeps things discreet. Its bodiless construction produces very little natural volume, and Yamaha rate it as up to 90 percent quieter than a conventional classical guitar. That makes late-night practice, shared homes and hotel rooms far easier, while the 650mm scale length and nylon string tension still feel familiar under the fingers. Use headphones for private sessions, or send a clean signal to front of house.

Collapsible travel design

A detachable frame section lets the guitar pack down into the included carry bag, so transport is far easier than a full-size classical. It’s ideal for commuting, touring, and keeping a proper practice instrument close at hand. Despite the compact format, the solid central body stays stable in the hands and helps the instrument stand up to regular use. Setup is quick, so you can go from bag to playing position in minutes when inspiration hits.

Controls for modern playing

The onboard layout keeps setup simple across practice and performance. Bass and treble controls help you balance your tone, while the smooth control lets you soften or sharpen the attack to suit your touch.
