The Cloud Microphones Cloudlifter Mini CL-25 is a compact gain booster suited to recording, broadcasting, podcasting, and live sound. Providing up to +25dB of clean gain, it increases the sensitivity of passive dynamic, ribbon, and tube microphones before their signal reaches your preamp.

Low-output microphones can demand plenty of preamp gain, particularly when you're capturing quiet voices, delicate instruments, Foley, or nature recordings. The CL-25 provides up to +25dB of clean gain before the signal reaches your preamp, increasing microphone sensitivity and helping bring quieter details forward.
Your preamp can then work within a more comfortable section of its gain range, rather than being pushed towards its upper limits. This helps reduce the noise, artefacts, unwanted colouration, and frequency degradation associated with higher preamp gain. The result gives you more of your microphone's original character while maintaining a stronger signal-to-noise ratio.
The CL-25 uses patented Class-A discrete circuitry that directly couples noise-cancelling JFET components to your microphone and preamp. Its signal path contains no capacitors or resistors, helping minimise components that could otherwise introduce distortion or change the source's character.
Two noise-cancelling gain stages operate before the microphone signal reaches the capacitors and other components within your preamp. This approach lets more of the microphone signal reach the preamp upfront, reducing how hard the preamp needs to work. It gives you another useful sonic option too, particularly when you want less preamp colouration and more of the connected microphone itself.
A 3k input impedance makes the CL-25 suitable for passive dynamic, ribbon, and tube microphones, including low-output designs. It runs from standard +48V phantom power supplied by your preamp or interface, but that phantom power is not passed through to the microphone. This helps protect ribbon and tube microphones that you don't want exposed to phantom power.
The CL-25 can also work with passive DI boxes, wireless microphone receiver outputs, and battery-powered microphones. Phantom-powered condenser microphones need an additional phantom power source because the CL-25 blocks the +48V supply coming from your interface or preamp.
The CL-25 is Cloud Microphones' smallest Cloudlifter design, giving you a portable way to add clean gain without taking up unnecessary space. Its in-line format connects directly with microphones, preamps, mixers, stage boxes, and wall panels, keeping installation straightforward.
