Apogee EQP-1A Overview
The Apogee EQP-1A is a software reproduction of the classic Pulteq hardware EQ. Shape sound with precision and power using the broad EQ curves. These interact with each other, creating EQ curves with a timeless sound.
To ensure a vintage sound, circuit non-linearities have been recreated, giving the EQP-1A a charming character to match the original. In fact, this plugin has been developed with the current Pultec manufacturer themselves. You can run it on any DAW, but it can also shine on Apogee hardware DSP just as much.

With the original version released in 1951, the EQP-1A has a heritage stretching over 60 years. The unit is known for its durability, optimized design, and, most importantly, incredible sound quality. That is why units have been used for years and years without breaking, and why these units are still being made.
But not everyone has the thousands to spend on a hardware EQP-1A. This is where Apogee's version comes in. They have accurately recreated the EQP-1A in collaboration with Pultec's current manufacturer. As well as emulating the main EQ features of the EQP-1A, they've emulated its analog peculiarities too. For example, bands interact with each other, and circuit nonlinearities have been intentionally introduced. This is a classic unit that now everyone can use.
