Huge analog tone with triple-oscillator depth
Memory V recreates the unmistakable architecture that made the original Memorymoog legendary. Each voice features three free-running VCOs, delivering the dense harmonic layering and animated movement associated with classic early-80s polyphonic synthesis. Combine Square, Ramp, and Triangle waveforms, adjust pulse width, and engage oscillator sync for aggressive leads, weighty basses, and evolving textures with real analog character. The instrument’s naturally unstable behaviour is preserved too, with Vintage and Dispersion controls introducing subtle drift and component variation across tuning, envelopes, filter response, and modulation. The result feels alive under your fingers, retaining the raw unpredictability that made the original hardware so inspiring to play.
Authentic filter response with powerful low-end
At the centre of Memory V’s sound is a detailed recreation of the original ladder filter design. Each voice features a modelled low-pass filter with selectable 24 dB and 12 dB modes, self-oscillation, and Bass Compensation to maintain low-frequency weight as resonance increases. This gives you the flexibility to move between smooth, rounded filtering and sharper, more aggressive resonance without thinning out your sound. Arturia’s TAE technology also models the mixer drive, VCAs, and analog non-linearities, helping patches sit prominently in a mix with the thick, forward character associated with vintage analog polysynths. Whether you’re shaping cinematic pads or punchy synth brass, the filter retains clarity and depth across the full frequency range.
Expanded beyond the original hardware
Memory V goes well beyond a straight emulation, adding modern production tools that simply were not possible on the original instrument. The drag-and-drop modulation system makes complex routing quick and intuitive, while expanded modulation options add deeper movement and stereo animation to patches. A four-layer Multi-Arp introduces advanced sequencing and rhythmic pattern generation, making it easier to create evolving textures and animated performances directly inside the synth. You also get a four-slot effects rack loaded with over 17 studio-grade effects, including delays, modulation processors, reverbs, and drive tools for polished sounds without extra plugins. Additional upgrades include stereo spread, enhanced unison options, oscillator sync across voices, expanded polyphony up to 12 voices, MPE compatibility, NKS support, MTS-ESP integration, and seamless Arturia controller connectivity.
Reviews
"The Memory V recreates this beast of a machine, which has mythical status among musicians. Alongside the usual attention to detail, I really appreciate the additional voices, modulations and effects, making this a powerhouse virtual synth, worthy of its name!" - Paul Haslinger – Composer
"The Memorymoog is one of the most powerful sounding synthesizers ever made. Arturia have captured that main character energy beautifully!" - Hannes Bieger – Producer / Sound Engineer
"Feeling very inspired from the beauty, warmth and flexibility the Memory V has to offer. Jumping from ethereal pads to deep sonic experiments and back to bendy dramatic strings in seconds. Will get a lot of use out of this instrument in future productions. The ease of use, sound quality and smooth interface makes this a joy to work with." - Headless Horseman – Producer / DJ
