Massive XL builds on the architecture of Massive X, combining detailed synthesis capabilities with an intuitive, visually driven workflow, making Massive XL the perfect synth to craft everything from gritty basses and sharp leads to atmospheric pads and intricate textures all in one synth.
The all-new Preset Generator and Mutator offer quick ways to discover new sounds, letting you create fresh patches or transform existing presets into something entirely different. Opening the doors to even more creative ways to generate unique sounds, Massive XL allows you drag and drop any audio samples to generate playable, editable synthesizer patches with no detailed knowledge of synthesis required! With Massive XL, you?ve never sounded more uniquely you.
For hands-on sound design, playable motion introduces expressive movement, while visual feedback makes navigating complex signal routing more straightforward. With full compatibility with Massive X presets and Expansions, you can build on your existing library while exploring new creative possibilities.
Product Ref: 398627
Spark an entirely new creative output. Massive XL builds on the unmistakable sound of the Massive series, giving you even more ways to create gritty basses, cutting leads, and evolving textures. With over 100 new wavetables and 100 new noisetables, you've got an expanded palette of sounds to experiment with, including vintage-inspired waveforms and analogue-sampled content.
Want something more personal? Simply drag your own samples or sample folders into the synth to create custom wavetables. Plus, with integrated effects including Raum, Replika Shimmer, and Tape Wobble, you can add space, movement, and character without leaving Massive XL. Polyphonic aftertouch support also lets you shape individual notes expressively using compatible hardware.
For those moments where inspiration strikes but you can’t nail the sound in your head, Massive XL's new Preset Generator lets you turn an audio reference into a playable, editable synth patch, complete with built-in stem separation. It's a quick way to get closer to the sounds you're imagining without having to build everything manually.
When you've nailed the sound you’re after, the new Mutator and Randomizer let you explore different variations while keeping your favourite elements intact. You can also use starting point templates and saveable curves to speed up programming. For more hands-on creativity, the Morpher and Animator let you introduce expressive movement that you can perform and transfer between presets.
Massive XL gives you the freedom to experiment with complex sound design without losing track of what's happening. Its flexible modulation system includes drag-and-drop assignments, envelopes, LFOs, sidechaining, and macros, so you can build detailed patches with plenty of movement.
Better still, the new animated modulators let you see your modulation working in real time, with moving shapes and visual feedback showing exactly how parameters are being affected. You can even reshape envelopes directly using draggable handles. Want to know what's controlling a particular parameter? Just hover over it to see the modulation assignments. Performers and Trackers also let you introduce sequenced, note-responsive, and velocity-sensitive modulation for evolving, playable sounds.
Already got a collection of Massive X presets and Expansions? You can bring them straight into Massive XL, giving you access to familiar sounds alongside all the new creative features. The updated preset browser makes finding the right patch easier, with search, favourites, tagging, and the ability to organise sounds into custom banks for different projects, genres, or clients.
There's also a new undo/redo history that tracks your edits, letting you jump back to previous stages of a patch whenever you need to. And if you're exploring an unfamiliar feature, simply hover over a control for a helpful explanation. It's a more intuitive workflow that keeps you focused on making music rather than navigating menus.
