The beating heart of Saxophones v3 is the new and improved SWAM-W audio engine technology. Utilising physical/behaviour modelling as well as multi-vector, phase-synchronous sample morphing; Saxophones v3 delivers unparalleled authenticity with a natural and full-bodied sound – just like the real instrument. Meticulously replicating the physical and acoustic properties of a saxophone, SWAM have been able to create the most realistic-sounding virtual instrument on the market. From the studio to the stage, the SWAM-W engine provide endless sonic variation making it perfect for compositions and performances alike.

Exceptional expression with in-depth performance controls

Building on the success of the previous version, Saxophones v3 features improved modelling behaviour with a range of new parameters to work with. The comprehensive performance controls on offer, allowing you to change virtually every aspect of how the sax behaves and sounds. There are dedicated pages for timbre, expression, master tuning, micro tuning and advanced fine-tuning of your instrument. You can do everything from changing the formant and breath noise to affecting the overall harmonic structure.

A variety of play modes are included plus the choice of four different sax instruments including Soprano, Alto, Tenor, and Baritone. There is even a dedicated FX section so you can shape and sculpt your sound using compression, reverb and a three-band EQ. One of the most unique new additions to the parameters is the ‘Breathy ppp dynamic’ which is available for all solo woodwinds.

Advanced MIDI mapping and preset manager

Deep integration for MIDI controllers allows you to control every aspect of Saxophones v3. With support for a range of expressive controllers, you can assign and play parameters from various controls on your MIDI controller. Offering real-time expression and articulation; Saxophones v3 truly puts the power in your hands. There is even a MIDI learn function! Saxophones v3 has a wide range of parameters you can use including Note Transitions, Legato Mode, Vibrato Depth, Vibrato Rate, Growl, Flutter Tongue, Breath Noise and so many more.

The preset manager itself provides an organised and easy-to-use view of all your presets – perfect for testing out the sonic power of Saxophones v3!. It can also be used in standalone mode or as a plugin with your favourite DAW.
