The Tierra Audio Icicle Equalizer is an extremely accurate and powerful four-band parametric equaliser, perfectly suited for a wide range of applications and instruments. An indispensable tool in the studio, Icicle is the perfect solution for the modern mixing and mastering engineer, giving you complete control over the tone and character of your sound. Expertly designed, each band has a wide frequency range to make sure that you can comfortably edit each and every detail without anything passing you by as well as a Q-factor dial to target broad or narrow frequency ranges.
Hand-built in Madrid, Spain, Icicle is comprised of top of the line components and parts for maximum performance and sonic perfection. Comprised of hand-made 'through-hole' components, Icicle performs with no electronic friction allowing for a near-zero background noise level, perfect for hearing every detail of your signal in isolation to mix and EQ properly. Audio-optimised Triag Magnetics transformers produce a stable and steady power section to amplify your signal with an immense level of clarity and definition.
Capable of delivering both natural, smooth and pristine sounds as well as gritty and saturated tones, Icicle gives you full control over the character of your instruments. Add harmonic distortion when you drive your sound up to 11 with the OOMPH! function to distort the internal Germanium diodes, perfect for your percussion and vocals, or keep your levels down for a completely natural and authentic sound that fits more traditional instruments such as violins and orchestral.

Often overlooked, but who's contribution cannot be understated, the EQ unit is a staple of the recorded music industry. Every instrument and audio track can be effected with an EQ, whether it's being used to creative effect or simply for subtle boosts and cuts to the overall tone of your instrument, the EQ unit is the right tool for the job. Tierra Audio Icicle is no exception, feature packed and immaculate sounding, it will be your go-to for any challenge you face, whether you need to make some room in the low-end of your drums for your bass guitar or add brightness to dull vocal recordings, you will never need another EQ again.
It's very common to find that when mixing certain instruments, there will be resonant frequencies that will stand out from your mix and cause some annoyance for your listeners, in these situation, Icicle is here to save the day! A wide-ranging Q-factor in each of the frequency bands allows you to hone in on a very narrow band of frequencies to notch out these resonances or fundamentals to keep your sound clean and precise. This can be particularly useful on percussive instruments with a strong fundamental note such as a snare drum or tom drum.
As well as having the ability to notch out very narrow bands of frequencies to clean up the signal of your instrument, Icicle can also deliver wide and broad ranges of frequency boosting and cutting to give a more natural and smooth response to your EQ. For example, the treble filter reaches up to 29.5kHz, far beyond human hearing, and by boosting this range with a wide Q-factor, you will naturally increased the amount of presence to your signal that rises exponentially the higher the frequency. The result will be a smooth and natural sounding treble lift that doesn't suffer from harsh spikes that can put the listener off your mix.
Why not try the Icicle on your master chain and process a whole mix of instruments together in one go as well as individually treating them, to create smooth and fluid EQ changes to your song by using broad Q-factors and subtle boosting or cutting.
Turn things up to 11 and go beyond the pale to add a huge amount of colour and saturation to your tone with the OOMPH function. Pushing each band into overdrive, the OOMPH feature distorts the internal Germanium Diodes to add harmonic saturation to the specific frequency band you are effecting. This is a perfect solution for creative mixing engineers looking for a unique flavour to their sound to use as an effect, such as a on a vocal recording for an aggressive and distorted effect.
