Blend two distinct ensemble characters
Synchron Duality Strings combines two separately recorded string ensembles that share perfectly matched performances. The larger ensemble, captured on Synchron Stage Vienna's renowned Stage A, provides a spacious orchestral sound with natural hall ambience. Alongside it, the smaller ensemble was recorded in the more controlled acoustic of Stage B, adding clarity and definition when layered. Because both performances align precisely, you can move naturally between intimate chamber textures, full orchestral arrangements, or anywhere in between without compromising realism.
Shape your sound with flexible microphone options
The smaller Stage B ensemble includes both bright and dark microphone setups, giving you greater tonal control before you even begin mixing. Combined with dedicated mixer presets inside the Synchron Player, these recordings let you quickly adjust the balance between warmth, presence, and room ambience. Whether you want the expansive character of Stage A to dominate or prefer the focused detail of the chamber ensemble, the included presets provide a fast starting point while still allowing detailed customisation.
Detailed articulations for expressive performances
The library includes an extensive collection of performances recorded without mutes, covering short notes, sustained articulations, multiple legato styles, expressive attacks, pizzicato, tremolo, trills, harmonics, glissandos, runs, and more. Alongside the Synchron Player's standard articulation management, Flow View presets introduce velocity-based articulation switching, allowing you to move naturally between techniques such as spiccato and staccato or alternate attacks without interrupting your performance. This creates a more immediate and playable workflow when recording expressive orchestral parts.
Smooth transitions with Legato Largo
Synchron Duality Strings also introduces Legato Largo, a broader style of note transition designed for particularly smooth melodic passages. It offers an alternative to the standard legato articulations, producing more connected phrasing while remaining responsive enough for quicker musical lines. This makes it well suited to lyrical themes, emotional underscore, and expressive orchestral writing where seamless movement between notes is just as important as the ensemble's overall tone.
